[Remote] Research Intern (AI Infra Compute) - 2026 Start (PhD)

They are seeking a Research Intern for their AI Infra Compute team to explore and develop key technologies for their AI infrastructure stack, build prototypes, and showcase research findings through academic publications. Responsibilities Explore and develop key technologies for our AI Infra stack, including AI training and inference platforms, AI Agent infrastructure, etc Build prototypes to verify the functionality and performance of key components or innovations Showcase our research findings and products through academic publications Skills Currently pursuing a PhD in Software Development, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline Familiar with Go and Python development in Linux environments Experience in at least one of the following areas: LLM training, LLM inference and AI Agent Ability to work independently and complete projects from beginning to end and in a timely manner Good communication and teamwork skills to clearly communicate technical concepts with other teammates Code contributions to open source communities like Pytorch, vLLM or SGlang Publications in relevant computer science conferences such as OSDI or MLSYS Benefits Interns have day one access to health insurance Life insurance Wellbeing benefits and more Interns also receive 10 paid holidays per year Paid sick time (56 hours if hired in first half of year, 40 if hired in second half of year) Interns who are not working 100% remote may also be eligible for housing allowance Company Overview ByteDance is a technology company that develops content creation platforms and services.
