[Remote] Regional Channel Sales Engineer

Proofpoint is a global leader in human- and agent-centric cybersecurity, and they are seeking a Senior Channel Sales Engineer to join their growing Sales Engineering team. The role involves providing technical pre-sales support, mentoring reseller technical teams, and developing relationships with partners to drive technology adoption and customer satisfaction. Responsibilities • Provide technical pre-sales support for channel sales teams across the U.S. and Canada • Develop and execute a channel reseller technical plan that compliments the business plan and accelerates Proofpoint technology adoption • Enable/Mentor/Coach the reseller technical teams to drive the pre-sales cycle from pitch to demonstration to successful evaluation • Provide assistance in developing Partner services built around the Proofpoint Platform • Design complex People Centric security solutions and support the building of quotations for customer sales presentations • Develop relationships with Sales, channel sales, customer success, and other critical stakeholders in support of Proofpoint sales objectives • Develop relationships with Partner Technical teams and their leadership to establish a Proofpoint preference • Provide technical expertise and real-life experience in creating solutions, designs, proof of concept and implementation • Conduct research and use knowledge of competitive solutions to effectively address and dispel customer objections • Educate partner technical teams on the product solutions • Work alongside Threat researchers on partner-led client assessments • Drive high levels of customer and partner satisfaction Skills • 7+ years industry experience in sales engineering • Must have a good understanding of the sales process and the roles and responsibilities of a sales engineer • Experience in either secure messaging, data security or another cyber-security related field • Well versed in enterprise email solutions such as Exchange or Lotus Domino or expert level knowledge of SMTP • You have been a part of a sales team before or you want your career to go that direction • Understanding of Directory Services integration • Understanding of networking and other common protocols; SMTP, LDAP, HTTP, etc • Strong technical presentation and communication skills, both verbal and written • Must be able to thrive in a fast paced, high energy environment • Ability to work independently, adapt quickly, and maintain a positive attitude • Knowledge of Channel reseller types and ways to help them grow their business • BSCS/BSEE or equivalent experience • Experience in working in a remote office • Travel is REQUIRED in this role Benefits • Competitive compensation • Comprehensive benefits • Career success on your terms • Flexible work environment • Annual wellness and community outreach days • Always on recognition for your contributions • Global collaboration and networking opportunities Company Overview • Proofpoint provides cloud-based email security, e-discovery, and compliance solutions for companies to protect sensitive business data.
