They are committed to providing fast, flexible, and strategic financing solutions to support their clients' investment goals.Position OverviewOur client is seeking an experienced Private/Hard Money Loan Underwriter to join their team. This is a remote position, requiring a seasoned professional with direct experience underwriting construction, renovation, fix-and-flip, and bridge loans. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in risk assessment, collateral evaluation, and financial analysis, ensuring sound lending decisions while maintaining compliance with company policies.Key ResponsibilitiesUnderwrite construction, renovation, fix-and-flip, and bridge loans by analyzing borrower financials, project feasibility, and collateral value.Assess loan risk, repayment ability, and exit strategies to determine creditworthiness.Review and verify loan documentation, appraisals, title reports, and borrower experience.Ensure compliance with company underwriting guidelines and risk management policies.Work closely with loan officers, processors, and credit committees to facilitate efficient loan approvals.Identify potential risks and recommend structured loan terms to mitigate exposure.Provide timely decisions on loan approvals, conditions, and modifications.Stay updated on industry trends, market conditions, and regulatory changes in private lending.QualificationsMinimum 3 years of underwriting experience in construction, renovation, fix-and-flip, and bridge loans (Required).Direct Experience working directly for a private/hard money lender Strong understanding of private/hard money lending, asset-based lending, and risk assessment.Familiarity with loan structuring, title reviews, appraisals, and exit strategies for short-term real estate loans.Proficiency in loan origination software and underwriting tools (e.g., Encompass, LendingWise, or similar).Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.Excellent communication and collaboration abilities in a remote work environment.Why Join Our Client?Fully remote position with flexible work arrangements.Competitive salary and performance-based incentives.Opportunity to work in a fast-paced, high-growth industry.Collaborative and supportive team environment.
