[Remote] Principal, Product Manager, Last Mile Delivery
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Walmart Canada is seeking a Principal Product Manager to oversee the performance and scalability of the Last Mile Delivery ecosystem. This role involves managing the product roadmap, collaborating with engineering teams, and ensuring a seamless customer experience through effective product strategy execution.
Responsibilities
ā¢ Own driver-perceived performance across mobile app + backend systems
ā¢ Partner with engineering to identify systemic bottlenecks and failure modes
ā¢ Define and maintain core LMD journeys and state models
ā¢ Ensure failures are understandable at the journey level, not just at the service or app level
ā¢ Establish a clear error taxonomy mapped to journeys, ownership, and SOPs
ā¢ Drive end-to-end correlation between Spark app events and backend services
ā¢ Develop and own comprehensive product roadmaps, ensuring alignment with business goals and customer needs
ā¢ Lead cross-functional collaboration with stakeholders to secure resources and drive product strategy execution
ā¢ Communicate effectively with various teams to influence and build consensus
Skills
ā¢ Option 1: Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or related area and 9 years' experience in product management
ā¢ Option 2: 11 years' experience in product management or related area
ā¢ Experience managing platform products and APIs within complex technical environments
ā¢ Proven experience working with real-time, stateful, or high-availability systems (e.g., logistics, marketplace, delivery, mobility)
ā¢ Strong technical fluency ā comfortable discussing APIs, eventing, latency, consistency, and failure modes
ā¢ Experience owning non-functional requirements (performance, reliability, scalability)
ā¢ Demonstrated ability to lead through ambiguity and cross-team dependencies
ā¢ Deep understanding of customer needs, journey mapping, and process optimization to enhance product value
ā¢ Knowledge of Agile methodologies and modern product development lifecycles
ā¢ Ability to communicate complex concepts clearly
ā¢ Proven expertise in product strategy development and execution, including roadmap creation and MVP delivery
ā¢ Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence and align cross-functional teams
ā¢ Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business Administration, or related area and 8 years' experience as a product manager, ideally working on consumer-facing, large-scale, highly complex B2B/C products
ā¢ Supervisory experience
