Key Job Details:Start Date: Immediate openings availableLocation: RemoteCompany: Chicago, ILPosition: Immediately Need Manager Of Hispanic Communications And OutreachCompensation: a competitive salary  Job title: Manager of Hispanic Communications and Outreach Company: Archdiocese of Chicago Job description : Manages the Spanish language television hour, La Hora Catolica, Misa y Mas, the Hispanic Young Adult Professional Speaker Series including outreach to Hispanic Comminity. Identifies and pitches at least four potential print and video stories for consideration on a weekly basis. Must speak and write fluently in Spanish Shoots and edits multiple video stories for use in weekly Univision Spanish Program. Repurposes some of those video stories into Reels and other short video platform formats. Duties and Responsibilities Stories identified will include but are not limited to profiles of parishes, priests, and lay leaders. In depth stories concerning various Latin-American Marian devotions as well as behind the scenes preparations of large-scale feast celebrations such as Via Crucis and Our Lady of Guadalupe to be considered as well. * Writes and proofreads news releases for pitching to local and national Hispanic media. As an assistant producer, ensures that video stories are properly researched, interviews are booked, and footage is shot while maintaining originality in the work. Proofreads own assignments to detect and correct errors. Responsible for creating video content for the Univision program hour, newspaper, our corresponding websites, and other media outlets. Produces high-quality and accurate content about current or upcoming events. Responsible for managing the Young Adult Speaker Series Initiative. Including outreach and recruitment, location walkthroughs and videotaping all sessions. Submits completed works via the requisite channels and by the assigned date. Must speak and write fluently in Spanish. * *Denotes essential functions of this position in accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act. REQUIREMENTS AND PREFERENCES Education Preferred: Bachelor's degree in journalism, Communications or equivalent. Education Preferred: Advanced degrees and/or training in related field with theological focus. Experience Preferred: Experience in multi-media/digital environment with specific focus on religion writing. Experience Preferred: Extensive multi-media/digital experience with focus on religion. Computer literate. Skills Required: Have native-level proficiency in written and spoken Spanish and a strong ability to read, write and speak in English. Previous management experience in multi-media/digital environment. Have thorough understanding and respect for Catholic Church and the hierarchy.
