[Remote] Ocean Pricing Analyst – Ocean Freight

Altius Talent is a recruitment agency specializing in freight forwarding, and they are seeking an Ocean Pricing Analyst to support ocean freight pricing for import and export movements. This role involves preparing accurate pricing, collaborating with internal teams, and ensuring compliance with regulations while monitoring market trends. Responsibilities • Prepare accurate and timely ocean freight pricing for import and export shipments, including FCL, LCL, and special equipment • Request, review, and negotiate rates with carriers, truckers, warehouses, and overseas agents • Support sales teams with spot pricing, RFQs, and customer tenders • Ensure all pricing reflects correct routing, equipment, surcharges, and accessorials • Maintain compliance with FMC regulations and internal pricing policies • Evaluate service options and recommend optimal routings based on customer requirements • Monitor market trends, carrier updates, and surcharge changes to maintain competitive positioning • Meet established turnaround times for pricing requests • Assist with margin analysis and broader pricing strategy as needed • Maintain clear, audit-ready documentation related to rates and pricing activity • Track and report basic pricing analytics Skills • 2–5 years' experience in ocean freight pricing, forwarding, or NVOCC operations • Strong understanding of import and export ocean freight processes and terminology • Familiarity with carrier contracts, NRAs, and accessorial charges • Experience working with global agent networks • Proficiency with TMS systems (CargoWise or similar), Excel, and pricing tools • Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple deadlines • Clear written and verbal communication skills • Commercially minded with the ability to balance competitiveness and margin • Working knowledge of FMC regulations and tariff requirements Benefits • Competitive base salary and benefits package Company Overview • Chosen and recognised by the industry's leading forwarders and rising independents, Altius Talent recruits across the full spectrum of global logistics.
