Remote Mid Level Android Engineer-LatAm (contract)

This position is focused on maintaining and iterating on an existing Kotlin-based Android application, with an emphasis on stability, minor feature enhancements, and seasonal campaign updates. You’ll work within a well-established codebase and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth, timely mobile releases. This role is ideal for a strong individual contributor who thrives in a delivery-driven, product-focused environment. You’ll be shipping real features to real users that’s core to the client’s digital customer experience. Responsibilities • Build and maintain features in a production Kotlin Android app. • Execute against clearly defined requirements and contribute to delivery of roadmap items. • Implement UX/UI updates for seasonal campaigns, promotions, and minor feature enhancements. • Triage and resolve bugs or regressions across Android versions and device types. • Collaborate with engineers, designers, and product managers in a fully remote setup. • Use GitHub for source control, code review, and deployment processes. • Follow established coding standards and participate in team-wide practices for quality and velocity. Qualifications • 3+ years of experience building and shipping native Android apps with Kotlin. • Strong hands-on experience with Jetpack Compose in production environments. • Familiarity with modern Kotlin concurrency, data persistence, and navigation patterns. • Comfortable working within an existing architecture and following established coding conventions. • Proficient with GitHub workflows, including branches, PRs, and Github actions. • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to building clean, maintainable code. Nice to Have • Experience working on apps in retail, QSR, or other consumer-facing transactional experiences. • Familiarity with remote feature flags, analytics tools, or third-party SDKs (e.g., loyalty, payments). • Background working in fast-paced, cross-functional teams with overlapping release cycles.
