Remote Medical Benefit Verification Specialist - Join Our Team!
Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Remote Medical Benefit Verification Specialist to join our team at Community Health Systems. As a vital member of our Shared Services Center, you will play a crucial role in supporting our mission to provide safe, quality healthcare and build enduring relationships with our patients and communities.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide professional, accurate, and timely insurance verification and notification for outpatient diagnostic services, observation, and inpatient services
Verify insurance eligibility, benefits, and preauthorization/precertification/referral guidelines following the 16 components of verification
Ensure thorough documentation of account activity in our computer system and maintain accurate records
Communicate and educate patients and physician practices to ensure compliance with identified payor requirements
Validate referrals, pre-certification, and authorizations for scheduled services and resolve any issues that may arise
Calculate patient estimated portions and notify patients of their responsibilities prior to scheduled appointments

Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent required
Minimum 1 year of hospital/physician business office experience, including knowledge of collections, EOB processing, and billing
Preferred 2 years of experience in a medical facility, ambulatory surgery facility, or acute-care hospital working with insurance verification
