[Remote] Mechanical Commissioning Engineer (Data Center Construction Experience)

InPwr Inc. is an award-winning electrical design-build firm headquartered in Indianapolis, IN, seeking a seasoned Mechanical Commissioning Engineer. This role involves overseeing the installation, testing, and verification of mechanical systems and equipment to ensure they meet design specifications before operation. Responsibilities • Participate in the planning and coordination of commissioning activities, working closely with project managers, design engineers, construction teams, and other stakeholders to ensure that commissioning activities are properly scheduled and executed • Verify that mechanical systems and equipment are installed according to design specifications, manufacturer's recommendations, and applicable codes and standards. This involves reviewing installation drawings, conducting site inspections, and ensuring proper alignment, assembly, and connections • Perform functional tests on mechanical systems and equipment to ensure they operate as intended. This may include testing components such as pumps, motors, valves, actuators, HVAC systems, plumbing fixtures, and other mechanical devices to verify their performance and functionality • Conduct performance tests to verify that mechanical systems meet performance requirements under normal operating conditions as well as during peak loads or other demanding scenarios. This may involve testing parameters such as flow rates, temperatures, pressures, vibration levels, and energy efficiency • Document all aspects of the commissioning process, including test procedures, test results, equipment specifications, and any modifications or adjustments made during commissioning. Accurate documentation is essential for compliance, future reference, and handover to operations and maintenance teams • Provide training to operations and maintenance personnel on the proper operation and maintenance of mechanical systems and equipment. This helps ensure that personnel are familiar with the systems they will be responsible for operating and maintaining • Ensure that all commissioning activities are conducted in compliance with applicable safety regulations and standards to protect personnel and property.
