[Remote] K-5 Social Studies Curriculum Writer

They are seeking a K-5 Social Studies Curriculum Writer to write and adapt standards-aligned curriculum, create engaging lesson plans, and collaborate with various stakeholders to enhance educational materials.
Responsibilities
ā¢ Write and adapt Social Studies curriculum and instructional materials (units, lesson plans, assessments, student materials)
ā¢ Collaborate with subject matter experts, editors, and instructional designers
ā¢ Incorporate evidence-based best practices in Social Studies instruction
ā¢ Revise materials based on client feedback
ā¢ Support development of professional learning materials for teachers
ā¢ Apply knowledge of current trends in Social Studies education
ā¢ Integrate innovative strategies and tools to enhance learner engagement
Skills
ā¢ Bachelor's degree in history, social studies, education, or related field
ā¢ Excellent writing skills required
ā¢ Exceptional attention to detail
ā¢ Commitment to educational equity
ā¢ Comfort with project management tools and deadlines
ā¢ Commitment to organizational mission and inclusion
ā¢ Excellent oral and written communication skills
ā¢ Ability to manage, prioritize, and multitask
ā¢ Ability to navigate ambiguity and meet frequent deadlines
ā¢ Sense of humor and ability to work in a dynamic environment
ā¢ Strong familiarity with the US K-12 education system
ā¢ Educational writing experience
ā¢ Experience (professional, internship, or volunteer) in education
ā¢ Familiarity with AI tools and comfort learning new software platforms
