[Remote] Junior Test Engineer

Altus Engineering is a Maryland-based small business providing professional engineering services to the Department of Defense and industry customers. They are seeking a qualified Junior Test Engineer to perform in the position of Product T&E Representative Support, focusing on testability and acceptance clarity for user stories, as well as developing and maintaining test cases. Responsibilities Participate fully in Agile ceremonies (daily scrum, planning, refinement, review, retrospectives) and SAFe PI Planning to ensure testability and acceptance clarity for user stories Develop and maintain manual and automated test cases aligned to acceptance criteria; execute acceptance testing to validate delivered functionality Assess and improve test coverage across the team's scope; identify gaps and recommend corrective actions Coordinate defect identification, documentation, prioritization, and tracking in Jira; report defect trends and quality risks to stakeholders Support integration of test execution into CI/CD pipelines, including pipeline gate thresholds and automated regression validation Support UAT readiness activities including test planning, execution support, and reporting Skills Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline or closely related field 1+ years (2+ years test automation preferred) Must have an active Secret Clearance with the ability to be cleared for Top Secret and possibly Top Secret/SCI Security+ certification CESA certification SAFe Practitioner (SP) or CSM/PSM I certification 2+ years test automation experience Tricentis Tosca experience Benefits 401(k) 401(k) matching Dental insurance Health insurance Health savings account Life insurance Paid time off Vision insurance Company Overview Altus Engineering specializes in engineering and research services for the U.S. Department of Defenses.
