Responsibilities • Prepare federal, state, and local tax returns for a diverse range of clients using professional tax software. • Gather and review client financial documents such as W-2s, 1099s, receipts, and other relevant records to ensure accurate data entry. • Identify potential deductions and credits to optimize client refunds while maintaining compliance with current tax regulations. • Communicate clearly with clients to explain tax concepts, answer questions, and provide guidance throughout the process. • Stay updated on the latest tax laws and software updates through ongoing training and self-education. • Maintain confidentiality of client information and adhere to all data security protocols. • Complete all required documentation accurately and submit returns within designated deadlines. Experience • Previous experience in tax preparation with Jackson Hewitt and Profiler is required • Strong proficiency with Profiler and the Jackson Hewitt system is required. • Excellent attention to detail with the ability to analyze financial documents critically. • Effective communication skills to explain complex tax concepts in an understandable manner. • Ability to work independently in a remote environment while managing multiple client files efficiently. • Familiarity with current federal and state tax laws is advantageous but not mandatory; ongoing training will be available. • High school diploma or equivalent required; additional certifications such as IRS Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) certification are a bonus.
