[Remote] INSIGHT Program Operations Specialist-Lead (Temporary)

The University of Washington is seeking an INSIGHT Program Operations Specialist-Lead to manage the Harborview Injury Prevention & Research Center summer program for high school students. This temporary position involves instructing and supervising interns, overseeing program staff, and liaising with faculty mentors.ResponsibilitiesInstruct and supervise high school interns (70%)Administrative duties related to INSIGHT program including oversight of other program staff members (20%)Serve as liaison to faculty mentors working with INSIGHT program (10%)SkillsBachelor's degree in healthcare management, business, social science programs, education or other related fieldMinimum 1-2 years' experience managing programs involving student learners, curriculum development, or educational programsAbility to work independently and as part of a teamStrong interpersonal and leadership skillsDemonstrated ability to communicate professionally in all forms of communications, e.g., verbal, and written, one-on-one and in groupsAbility to contribute to a positive and collaborative work environmentAdvanced working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel and PowerPoint in particular)MPH, MSW or MEd degree earned or in progress, with an understanding of public health research, outreach, and communicationsExperience teaching, supervising and/or counseling high school students or student internsExperience with a volunteer program, public health non-profit organization or NGO such as the Peace CorpsExperience in a public health settingCompany OverviewUniversity of Washington is an educational institution that provides undergraduate, graduate, and research programs.
