We're seeking experienced and credentialed Inpatient Medical Coders to join our team, where you'll utilize your expertise to drive success and help shape the future of healthcare. Responsibilities:


Review medical records and assign accurate codes for diagnoses and procedures, utilizing your expertise in medical terminology and coding guidelines.
Assign and sequence codes accurately based on medical record documentation, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
Abstract and enter coded data for hospital statistical and reporting requirements, maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
Communicate documentation improvement opportunities and coding issues to appropriate personnel, demonstrating excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Maintain a 95% coding accuracy rate and 95% accuracy rate for MS-DRG assignment, while meeting site-designated productivity standards.
Demonstrate a commitment to ongoing learning and professional development, staying up-to-date with industry trends and best practices.


Qualifications:


A minimum of 2 years of inpatient coding facility experience, with a strong foundation in medical terminology and coding principles.
CCS, RHIT, or RHIA certification preferred, with a strong understanding of coding guidelines and regulatory requirements.
Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.


Bonus Points:


Associate or Bachelor's degree from an AHIMA-certified HIM or Nursing Program, or completion of a certificate program from AAPC with a preference for CCS.
Level 1 trauma facility experience, with a strong understanding of complex coding scenarios.
Experience in computerized encoding and abstracting software, with a proficiency in electronic health records.
