As a Digital Reporter (DR), you will play a vital role in overseeing civil litigation proceedings, capturing witness testimony, and utilizing digital tools to ensure accurate and comprehensive documentation. Your responsibilities will include:
Supervising proceedings as an impartial custodian of the record
Administering oaths to witnesses and fulfilling duties as a State Notary
Recording proceedings with high-fidelity audio technology
Annotating case events and terminology accurately for precise transcription
Conducting in-depth research and verifying information from various sources
Utilizing digital databases and online research tools proficiently
Requirements
To succeed in this role, you should:
Obtain certification or state licensure as required
Possess knowledge of U.S. civil proceedings or be willing to learn
Have or be willing to acquire digital reporting equipment
Be confident in moderating live legal proceedings
Be fluent in English speaking, reading, and writing
Be proficient with technology, including strong keyboard skills
Demonstrate a professional demeanor, reliability, punctuality, and presentability
Be willing to work as an independent contractor
No shorthand or stenography experience is required.
