As a remote bookkeeper, you'll be an integral part of our team, working closely with our leadership to drive financial accuracy and compliance. Key Responsibilities As a Remote In-House Bookkeeper at Special Strong, you'll be responsible for a wide range of financial tasks, including: Financial Record Management: Maintain accurate financial records for all transactions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll. Record journal entries and reconcile bank, credit card, and other accounts. Prepare and maintain financial statements, including income statements and balance sheets. Accounts Payable & Receivable: Process invoices, payments, and employee reimbursements efficiently. Monitor and follow up on outstanding receivables. Manage vendor and customer accounts, ensuring timely and accurate processing. Reconciliations: Perform monthly reconciliations of bank accounts, credit cards, and other ledgers. Identify and resolve discrepancies in financial records promptly. Compliance & Reporting: Ensure compliance with tax laws and reporting requirements. Assist with preparation for audits and tax filings. Provide financial data and insights to support leadership decisions. Process Improvement: Streamline and optimize bookkeeping processes. Implement and manage financial software to enhance efficiency. Essential and Preferred Qualifications To succeed as a Remote In-House Bookkeeper at Special Strong, you'll need: Proven experience: A minimum of 2 years of experience as a bookkeeper or in a similar role. Accounting software proficiency: Experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks or similar tools. Strong understanding of accounting principles: A solid grasp of accounting principles and financial reporting. Excellent attention to detail: A high level of accuracy and attention to detail. Organizational skills: The ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively. Independence: The ability to work independently and manage your workload remotely. Strong communication skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills. While not required, the following certifications and qualifications are highly preferred: CPA, CMA, or equivalent certification: A certification in accounting or a related field. Experience with financial software: Experience with financial software such as Xero, Sage, or similar tools.
