We are seeking a highly motivated and organized individual to join our team as a Remote HR Benefits Intern. As a key member of our HR team, you will have the opportunity to learn and assist with daily functions in accordance with our Benefits, Leave, and Workers' Compensation guidelines and policies. This is a unique chance to gain hands-on experience in HR and develop a strong foundation for a successful career.
Job Summary:
In this role, you will:
Learn and assist with daily functions in accordance with our Benefits, Leave, and Workers' Compensation guidelines and policies
Gain knowledge of federal and state laws and regulations, including FMLA, USERRA, CFRA, PPACA, and HIPAA, IRS125 Plans, and more
Perform data entry, scanning, filing, and copying tasks
Answer phone calls and respond to Team Member questions
Prepare and distribute LOA reports and maintain monthly metric reporting on LOA and WC
Monitor leave tracking process for accuracy and timely notifications
Track and answer inquiries for LOA benefit billing process and assist in administration as needed
Prepare short-term disability forms and assist with establishing and communicating light duty assignments
Assist with ACA data validation and other HR-related tasks
Requirements:
To be successful in this role, you should:
Be currently enrolled in a College or University, or a recent graduate within the last six months with a GPA of 3.0 or higher
Have a combination of education and experience in a related field
Be authorized to work in the US as defined by the Immigration Act of 1986
Pass a Criminal Background Check
Be able to work remotely and commit to a 6-month internship
Be available to work full-time hours (40 hours a week, Monday-Friday) in MST/PST hours
Have excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (emphasis on Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Have a working knowledge of Ultipro (a plus)
Understand general HR practices and processes
Be proficient in using general office equipment (computer, fax, printer, copier, scanner, multi-line phone system, and calculator)
Have sound multi-tasking and self-organization capabilities within tight timelines
Be results and solution-driven with strong attention to detail
Have a history of working independently with little direction
Be able to build and maintain productive working relationships
Demonstrate a sense of urgency and follow-up
