[Remote] Full Time Home Health Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)

The Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) will evaluate patients' functional status and home environments, teach new skills, maintain clinical records, and follow treatment plans to improve patient outcomes. Responsibilities Participate in the ongoing evaluation of patient’s functional status (muscle function, endurance, visual coordination, written and verbal communication skills, self-care ability, work capacity, etc.) as delegated by the registered Occupational Therapist Participate in the ongoing evaluation of the home environment for hazards or barriers to more independent living as delegated by the registered Occupational Therapist Participate in teaching new skills or retraining patients when familiar daily activities have been lost due to illness or injury, in accordance with Mission's policy Maintain appropriate clinical records, clinical notes, and reports to the registered occupational therapist any changes in the patient’s condition Submit clinical documentation in accordance with Mission's policy (same day) Follow treatment program and goals for improved patient function as established by the registered Occupational Therapist Document patient’s response to treatment plan and progress toward established goals Skills Graduate of an Occupational Therapy Assistant curriculum accredited by the American Occupational Therapy Association Certified with the National Certification Examination of the American Occupational Therapy Association Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant Current BLS CPR certification Benefits 401(k) retirement savings plan Mileage reimbursement Employee Assistance Program (EAP) Paid vacation, sick leave, and holidays Medical, dental, and vision insurance Flexible Spending & Health Savings Accounts Disability, life, and AD&D insurance Pet insurance Company Overview Mission Healthcare is a home health and hospice services provider.It was founded in 2009, and is headquartered in San Diego, California, USA, with a workforce of 1001-5000 employees.
