Remote Full Stack Web Developer - PHP/CSS/MySQL

Are you a web developer with a strong understanding of PHP and a love for CSS? Firmseek, a website design and development company, is looking to hire a full-time web programmer who is skilled in interfacing with clients. We work primarily with law firms on brand development, website design and development, and business development automation. We have two different roles, one of which would be perfect for a recent college graduate or someone in the early stages of their career and another for a more senior web programmer. RESPONSIBILITIES: • Creating and integrating HTML/CSS templates with database-driven outputs • Producing JavaScript to support designs • Troubleshooting visual and other problems on client sites • Interfacing with clients with the ability to see a project through from start to finish • Collaborating and interfacing with other Firmseek programmers on design integration and software development issues SKILLS: • Integrating CSS styles and templates into sites coded with our in-house PHP framework (requires strong CSS and PHP skills) • Strong knowledge of PHP and MySQL • Extensive experience in CSS, HTML, and Javascript • Experience with Ajax and JQuery • Attention to detail when converting designer-provided Photoshop files • Mobile web application experience preferred • Graphic design skills a major plus • Server management experience is a huge plus REQUIREMENTS: • Excellent oral and written communication skills since the successful candidate will deal directly with clients during site development and modification • Must be able to hit the ground running and be comfortable working with a number of clients/projects at one time • 1-5 years website development experience (must be able to hit the ground running using Photoshop, Adobe, and other standard graphics programs) • Detail-oriented self-starter, with strong planning, time management, problem-solving, and organizational skills • Ability to handle multiple client projects simultaneously • Excellent references • Four-year bachelor’s degree • FINALISTS will be required to perform a monitored, live coding exercise to assess PHP experience and knowledge BENEFITS: • Work from home (our main office is in Washington, DC) • 2-month initial contract period to ensure a good fit for both parties with the goal to hire a permanent employee • Salary is negotiable based on experience and performance • 401(k) plan and 401(k) employer matching • Retirement planning services • Paid vacation APPLY NOW: • If you'd like to apply, please contact us through this site and indicate your salary requirements. • If you also design, please provide a link to your portfolio (no WordPress sites) • Only those who meet the criteria in this job posting should apply • No phone calls please COMPANY INFO: Firmseek is a marketing and technology company based in Washington, DC.
