[Remote] Emergency Preparedness Project Manager

They are seeking a Project Manager to lead the planning and execution of a large-scale technical implementation for emergency preparedness and risk mitigation initiatives, ensuring alignment across stakeholders and delivering high-quality outputs.
Responsibilities
ā¢ Lead end-to-end project management for complex planning efforts supporting emergency preparedness and risk mitigation initiatives
ā¢ Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, budget, work plans, milestones, and deliverable timelines
ā¢ Coordinate and manage inputs from diverse stakeholders, including technical experts, partner organizations, and leadership
ā¢ Plan, facilitate, and document stakeholder engagements such as interviews, workshops, and working sessions
ā¢ Organize and manage workstreams and tasking across contributors, ensuring alignment and accountability
ā¢ Monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies to keep efforts on track
ā¢ Drive the development of major deliverables, including budget, technical plans, reports, and supporting documentation
ā¢ Synthesize complex technical and stakeholder input into clear, actionable, and well-structured outputs
ā¢ Provide regular status reporting on progress, risks, and performance to program leadership
ā¢ Ensure adherence to project requirements, deadlines, and quality standards in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
ā¢ Support coordination of budgeting inputs, resource planning, and level-of-effort tracking as needed

Skills
ā¢ A Bachelor's degree
ā¢ 8+ years of professional experience
ā¢ 3+ years of relevant experience managing projects of similar scope and complexity
ā¢ Experience supporting emergency preparedness, disaster response, or hazard mitigation programs at the federal, state, or local level
ā¢ Experience coordinating projects related to public safety systems, early warning systems, or risk reduction initiatives
ā¢ Demonstrated experience managing multi-stakeholder projects involving federal clients
ā¢ Experience developing project plans, budgets, schedules, and deliverables in a structured environment
ā¢ Experience with cost estimation, budgeting, or WBS development
ā¢ Experience with technical planning efforts, implementation plans, or strategic reports
ā¢ Strong facilitation and stakeholder engagement skills
ā¢ Excellent written and verbal communication skills
ā¢ US citizenship or permanent resident and the ability to pass public trust clearance or suitability
ā¢ Experience supporting USGS or FEMA
ā¢ Experience supporting planning efforts for natural hazards (e.g., earthquakes, wildfires, floods, or other environmental risks)
ā¢ Familiarity with emergency management frameworks, such as the National Response Framework (NRF), National Incident Management System (NIMS), or similar structures
ā¢ PMP, CAPM, or similar project management certification
ā¢ Experience working with scientific, engineering, or infrastructure-related projects
