Remote Discovery Attorney – Lemon Law / Civil Litigation (Plaintiff-Side)

Job Title: Discovery Attorney - Lemon Law Location: Fully Remote (Must be barred in California) Base Salary: Target range about 115,000 to 150,000 DOE What This Firm Does This consumer-focused firm handles plaintiff-side Lemon Law matters on a high-volume but well-structured docket. The teams are built around efficiency, strong systems, and clear division of labor between litigators and discovery attorneys. The firm is growing and is shifting to a model where each litigation team has its own dedicated discovery attorney. You will not be worrying about trials, client intake, or rainmaking. Your value here is your ability to process discovery cleanly and consistently, and to support the litigators so they can focus on hearings, mediations, and trial work. It is a strong fit for someone who left traditional firm life, wants to be fully remote, and prefers deep, detailed work over constant courtroom battles. What You Will Do • Draft and respond to written discovery in Lemon Law matters • Review case files and discovery responses for completeness and consistency • Assist with motion practice related to discovery issues • Support deposition preparation and review, including exhibits and outlines • Proofread, edit, and quality-check discovery and related filings • Coordinate with assigned litigation attorneys to keep discovery on track and deadlines met What You Need • JD from an accredited law school • Active California Bar in good standing • 2+ years of civil litigation experience (consumer, PI, employment, insurance, or similar) • Prior exposure to discovery, motions, and at least some deposition work • Strong writing, editing, and detail orientation • Comfort working independently in a fully remote environment Work Model • Fully remote • Self-managed day-to-day, with clear expectations and deadlines • Collaboration via Zoom, email, and case management tools Compensation and Benefits • Base salary targeted in the 115,000 to 150,000 range DOE and structure • Role is designed for stability and remote flexibility rather than heavy bonus upside • Full benefits package, including health, PTO, and standard firm benefits (to be discussed directly with the firm) Interested?
