[Remote] Director of Legal Counsel

As the first in-house Legal Counsel, you will support the company’s commercial and operational growth by drafting and negotiating contracts and ensuring compliance with privacy and data protection laws. Responsibilities • Draft, review, and assist in negotiating commercial agreements, including SaaS contracts, NDAs, and vendor agreements • Support all teams in day-to-day legal matters • Assist with employment-related documentation and coordination with external counsel when needed • Help ensure compliance with privacy and data protection laws (GDPR, CCPA, etc.) • Contribute to legal templates, playbooks, and process improvements to streamline legal workflows • Collaborate cross-functionally with internal stakeholders to support business operations, deals, and risk management Skills • J.D. degree and active license to practice law in at least one U.S. state • 5–10 years of relevant experience, including experience in technology or cybersecurity companies (in-house or through client work) • Strong understanding of commercial contracts and SaaS business models • Familiarity with data privacy, IP, and employment law • Excellent written and verbal communication skills • Pragmatic, business-oriented mindset with attention to detail • Comfortable working independently in a fast-paced, global startup environment Company Overview • Zenity secures AI agents everywhere - across SaaS, cloud, and the endpoint.
