[Remote] Consultant, Accounting
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. H2O.ai is an innovative AI cloud platform company focused on democratizing AI. They are seeking a hands-on Accounting Consultant to support day-to-day accounting operations, including general accounting, compliance, and international subsidiary functions, while ensuring financial integrity and operational efficiency.
Responsibilities
ā¢ Support general accounting and month-end close activities
ā¢ Prepare timely and accurate journal entries and reconciliations, including in areas such as prepaids, payroll, equity, intercompany, accruals and provide fluctuation analysis on key accounts
ā¢ Support additional compliance tasks for US and international subsidiaries include tax and audit including sales tax filings, global payroll, and international filings
ā¢ Support special projects such as system optimization/implementation in related areas
ā¢ Cross-team support in other general accounting areas for vacation backup such as accounts payable and accounts receivable
Skills
ā¢ Bachelor's degree in Accounting
ā¢ 5+ years of general accounting experience, preferably in the software or technology industry
ā¢ Strong knowledge of US GAAP and a solid understanding of core accounting principles
ā¢ Advanced Excel skills (such as pivot tables, VLOOKUP, SUMIF, etc.) and comfort with cloud-based financial tools
ā¢ Excellent attention to detail, organization, and time management
ā¢ Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally in a collaborative environment
ā¢ Public accounting background (Big 4 or equivalent) strongly preferred, or demonstrated technical accounting expertise
ā¢ Experience in Accounting systems, such as SAP S/4Hana, NetSuite, Carta, Ariba, Navan, Concur
ā¢ Experience with payroll accounting, equity/stock-based compensation accounting, and tax compliance support (preparing sales tax filings) is a plus
ā¢ Experience with multi-entity or international operations
ā¢ CPA or CPA-track is a plus
ā¢ Experience with financial automation or ERP optimization projects
ā¢ Experience with monthly balance sheet and income statement flux analysis
ā¢ Experience in public company and/or public accounting where understanding of internal controls and technical accounting experience was obtained is a plus
