LexiCode Remote Medical Coders - ED with Facility and Physician E/M and I&I Job Summary As a Medical Coder at LexiCode, you will join a dynamic team of coding experts dedicated to delivering exceptional coding services to our valued clients. Your primary responsibility will be accurately assigning diagnostic and procedural codes to medical records, ensuring compliance with coding guidelines and regulations. Work is performed remotely from your home office. Pay Disclosure: LexiCode is required by state specific laws to include the salary range for this role when hiring a resident in applicable locations. The pay range for this position starts at $28.00-37.00 per hour; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Bonus opportunities may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range Essential Job Responsibilities β’ Thoroughly review and analyze ED w Fac and Phys E/M and I&I medical records to identify pertinent diagnoses, procedures, and treatments. β’ Accurately assign medical codes to precisely reflect clinical documentation. β’ Ensure the integrity and precision of coded data. β’ Stay abreast of evolving coding guidelines, regulations, and industry best practices through continuous research. β’ Actively participate in coding quality improvement processes to uphold and enhance your coding accuracy. β’ Maintain optimal productivity levels while adhering to established coding quality and efficiency benchmarks. β’ Uphold strict patient confidentiality and privacy standards in strict compliance with HIPAA regulations. Minimum Qualifications β’ Possession of one of the following AHIMA credentials: RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CCS-P; or one of the following AAPC credentials: CPC, COC, or CIC. β’ Minimum of 1 year of experience in ED with Facility and Physician E/M and I&I coding. β’ Proficiency in ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, CPT and/or HCPCS coding, as appropriate, encompassing comprehensive knowledge of guidelines and conventions. β’ Competence in utilizing coding software and electronic health record (EHR) systems. β’ Strong analytical aptitude to interpret intricate medical documentation accurately. β’ Detail-oriented approach, ensuring precision and accuracy in all coding assignments. β’ Exceptional communication skills to facilitate effective collaboration with healthcare professionals. β’ Strong organizational and time management capabilities to meet coding deadlines.
