Remote California General Liability Paralegal

MG+M The Law Firm (MG+M) has an immediate opening for a Paralegal to join our General Liability practice group. This position requires the ability to work Pacific Time Zone business hours (9:00 am to 5:00 pm) on a remote basis to support our California offices. Experience handling California cases is a plus, though not required.

The firm's expertise is diverse but focused in the areas of toxic tort, complex product liability, local government, general liability, and commercial litigation. We approach litigation as a unified team, integrating our efforts with those of our clients to advance their interests wherever they do business . Essential Duties And Responsibilities
• Oversee and coordinate a high-volume General Liability docket for a Senior Managing Partner.
• Serve as primary liaison between attorneys, legal administrative assistants, and other paralegals to ensure efficient case management.
• Manage multiple complex litigation matters simultaneously.
• Monitor case filings and provide detailed assessments to attorneys.
• Draft and prepare initial drafts of various pre-trial motions, dispositive motions, and other pleadings.
• Review and evaluate discovery documents including medical records, sales documents, employment records, and other case materials.
• Compose case assessments and evaluations for review by associates and partners.
• Record and submit contemporaneous billable time in accordance with firm policies.
• Perform intensive administrative work and procedural tasks related to case management.

Candidate Requirements
• Minimum of 5+ years of General Liability Defense litigation experience.
• Bachelor’s Degree required.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel), Westlaw, PACER, and File & Serve Xpress.
• Experience handling California litigation is strongly preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to manage a large caseload with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Attendance & Punctuality: Consistently arrive at work and meetings on time; ensure responsibilities are covered when absent.
• Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interface effectively with attorneys, other paralegals, and legal administrative assistants.
• Organization: Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
• Customer service: Respond promptly to attorney and client requests for service and assistance; meet commitments.
• Dependability: Follow instructions, complete tasks on time, work independently, and commit to the hours necessary to meet deadlines.
• Teamwork: Contribute to building a positive team spirit and support the success of colleagues.
