Remote Backend SWE

Company Description This is a contract position for one of our fintech clients. This person will be working within either the brokerage or crypto teams! Job Description We’re looking for a backend engineer who gets excited about building things that don’t exist yet. This is not a role for someone who only maintains or “tunes” existing systems — we need someone who can take a blank slate and turn it into a production‑ready service. You’ll be working on greenfield projects with a team that values speed, technical excellence, and ownership. This is a 6‑month contract role with potential for extension and/or conversion, but in those six months, you’ll make a tangible impact. Important: You must be based in the United States . We can’t provide visa sponsorship for this role. This is a contract position , fully remote within the US. This contract would be a W-2 position, we cannot do a 1099 or C2C at this time Qualifications What you’ll do Build backend services from scratch — from architecture to deployment. Design RESTful APIs and highly concurrent systems that handle real‑world scale. Solve complex engineering problems and make sound decisions about priorities. Collaborate closely with other engineers to deliver fast, maintainable code. Contribute to a culture of ownership: review code, share knowledge, and mentor where you can. What makes someone a great fit 3+ years of experience in backend development. Proven track record of building greenfield systems (not just maintaining legacy code). Proficiency in Golang or Python (both are great). Experience with cloud‑native architectures (AWS, Kubernetes, Docker). Strong grasp of REST API design , distributed systems, and concurrency.
