[Remote] Automation & Control Valve SME

Sterling Engineering is a leading organization within the Automation & Control Valve space, and they are seeking a Subject Matter Expert (SME) specializing in Anti-Surge and Severe Service applications. This role involves serving as the technical and commercial authority, supporting sales and commercial operations, and collaborating globally with cross-functional teams to drive bookings, revenue, and profitability. Responsibilities • Expand market presence and bookings related to Anti-Surge and Severe Service applications • Serve as the go-to technical expert for Sales and Commercial Operations when specifying products • Collaborate with Commercial Operations to define application guidelines and optimal technical/commercial solutions • Partner with Product Management and Engineering to develop or customize products, including required certifications • Support Sales teams with vendor list inclusion and RFQ readiness • Develop insights and recommendations related to market-level pricing and service requirements • Analyze competitive offerings and identify differentiation strategies • Develop and deliver training materials to improve organizational knowledge across functions • Collaborate globally across regions and departments Skills • Deep expertise in anti-surge valves and severe service applications through education and/or experience • Minimum 10 years of experience in commercial operations, sales operations, or related roles • Ability to interface effectively across global regions and cross-functional teams • Strong interpersonal skills with a customer-focused, high-urgency mindset • Ability to produce professional reports and presentations • Creative problem-solver with the ability to think outside the box • Willingness to travel 50% or more globally • Bachelor's degree or higher in a related field Benefits • Medical, Dental & Vision Insurance (FSA & HSA options available) • Life Insurance, Supplemental Life, Child, Spousal & AD&D Insurance • Short-Term and Long-Term Disability • 401(k) & Retirement Planning Resources • Financial Wellness Programs • Educational Assistance Program • Paid Time Off, including sick leave, parental leave, and vacation Company Overview • Sterling Engineering is an engineering company providing technical recruitment and engineering project services.
