[Remote] Android Engineer - Advertising

The role involves collaborating with various teams to create impactful ad experiences while ensuring code quality and performance.
Responsibilities
ā¢ Build and evolve ad experiences that allow millions of listeners to enjoy Spotify for free
ā¢ Collaborate with engineers across Android, iOS, backend, and web, along with product, design, and data partners to ship impactful features
ā¢ Write clean, maintainable code that scales across teams and products
ā¢ Contribute to the technical direction, architecture, and best practices for Android development within Advertising
ā¢ Improve app performance, reliability, and user experience across ad surfaces
ā¢ Help shape reusable components and libraries that support fast, consistent development
ā¢ Contribute to a collaborative, inclusive, and autonomous team environment
Skills
ā¢ You know how to write clear, idiomatic Kotlin or Java and build maintainable Android applications
ā¢ You are experienced with modern Android frameworks and development tools
ā¢ You have a strong understanding of Android architecture patterns and API design
ā¢ You care about code quality, performance, and delivering polished user experiences
ā¢ You understand how mobile applications connect with backend systems end-to-end
ā¢ You have shipped at least one app to the Google Play Store or have a project you can walk us through
ā¢ You value collaboration and contribute to a positive, inclusive team environment
ā¢ You have 2+ years of experience building Android applications
