[Remote] Analyst- Regional Sub-Saharan Africa Digital Infrastructure Opportunities Desk Studies
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Banyan Global is an international development consulting firm headquartered in Washington, D.C. They are seeking an Analyst to support the Regional Sub-Saharan Africa Digital Infrastructure Opportunities Desk Study Series, which will aid USTDA in decision-making for funding activities related to digital infrastructure projects. The role involves reviewing project proposals, conducting market research, and preparing project reports and budgets.
Responsibilities
• Support review of initial project proposals and preparation of up to 15 Project Reports
• Conduct background research on digital infrastructure markets, regulatory frameworks, and competitive landscape in Sub-Saharan Africa
• Perform financial and economic analysis
• Support U.S. export and market assessments
• Assist in evaluating sponsor capacity and project risks, including environmental, regulatory, and infrastructure considerations
• Draft Project Report sections, budget documentation, and supporting annexes
• Support preparation of the Final Report and public-facing market summary
Skills
• 2-5 years of experience in infrastructure, development finance, trade analysis, or project evaluation
• Experience supporting feasibility studies, technical assistance, or project preparation activities
• Experience conducting market and regulatory research
• Strong writing and documentation skills in English
• Experience in digital infrastructure sectors
• Experience in Sub-Saharan Africa
• Familiarity with MDB, DFC, Ex-Im, or commercial infrastructure financing
• Knowledge of international procurement practice
• Fluency in French or Portuguese
