The Division of Online and Distance Education at Husson University invites applications for a part-time adjunct faculty pool. This posting will remain open for a 90-day period to establish a pool of qualified candidates who may be considered for future online teaching or course development opportunities. Applications are reviewed as instructional and course development needs arise during the posting period. After the posting closes, applications may continue to be reviewed from the established pool based on departmental needs. Teaching and course development assignments are dependent upon factors such as student enrollment, program needs, course scheduling, and institutional priorities. Position Duties Husson University is seeking dynamic individuals to develop online courses for a bachelor’s degree in Animal Care and Behavior and a master’s degree in Applied Animal Behavior and Welfare. Course instructors are content experts who focus on providing an elite educational experience for learners to improve their skill level and knowledge. Candidates with demonstrated expertise and professional experience in the following course topics are encouraged to apply: Animal Behavior Animal Comparative Anatomy Animal Cognition and Consciousness Animal Disease Animal Genetics Animal Nutrition Animal Training Animal Welfare Anthrozoology Applied Animal Management Behavioral Biology Human-Animal Bond Research Methods for Animal Studies Minimum Qualifications An earned terminal degree in the discipline or a related field (doctoral degree preferred) Prior experience in online course instruction in higher education (preferred) Effective communication skills to convey subject matter clearly Strong organizational and time management skills Commitment to providing innovative and engaging online education Other Qualifications Thank you for considering employment with Husson University. Lab Sections (Undergraduate): - Master’s Prepared: $1,150.00 per credit hour - Doctoral or Equivalent Prepared: $1,250.00 per credit hour Online Course Development: Proposal or development fees range from $500.00 to $3,000.00, depending upon the complexity of the assignment.
