Remote Accounting Advisor

Job Summary
The Flexible Accounting Advisor position is remote and will be responsible for handling new clients, setting up systems and handing off to the bookkeeping team. Helping to review financial statements to identify errors, and troubleshoot software issues will be key skills for this position. This role requires a high level of accuracy, efficiency, and excellent communication skills. This position will stay current with accounting standards, tax regulations, and QuickBooks Online updates. Position is paid hourly and is part-time on a flexible schedule with the ability to grow into full-time as the firm grows.
PREFERENCE TO WA BASED APPLICANTS
Responsibilities and Duties
• Problem Solving: Trouble shooting Quickbooks software issues
• Quality Control: Perform monthly quality control check on clients books and financial statements.
• Financial Statement Review: Review financial statements to identify errors, inconsistencies, or areas for improvement
• Sales and B&O Tax: Prepare and/or review WA state excise tax filings as well as various city filings on filelocal.org
• Advise Bookkeeping Team: Provide expert guidance to bookkeepers on complex accounting issues and QuickBooks Online operations
• Optimize Systems: Support the team in implementing and optimizing accounting processes and procedures
• Journal Entries: Assist with journal entries as needed.
• Special Projects: Provide ad-hoc support for special projects or during peak periods
• Other tasks as assigned
Qualifications and Skills
• Experience: 5+ years of bookkeeping/accounting experience
• Knowledge: Strong understanding of general accounting principles and familiarity with payroll processing and tax regulations.
• Self-driven, strong problem solving skills and strong attention to detail a must
• Resourcefulness: Self-starter who takes initiative and finds creative solutions to challenges
• Time Management: Able to prioritize tasks effectively and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Proficient in Internet, Google Apps, Quickbooks; project management tools is a plus
• Certifications: QuickBooks ProAdvisor certification is required
• Excellent written and oral communication skills required
• Passion for exceptional customer service
