[Remote] Account Manager (PR) – Media Strategy & Media Outreach
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. The Last Layer is seeking an Account Manager – Media Strategy & Outreach to join their team. This role involves developing PR strategies, managing client accounts, and leading media outreach efforts to secure earned coverage.
Responsibilities
• Collaborate with our team to develop sharp, client-specific PR strategies
• Stay on top of trends and competitors to inform campaign direction and messaging
• Build and maintain strong relationships with top-tier media, podcasters, and Substack writers to drive quality earned coverage
• Personally pitch on behalf of clients weekly, ensuring we meet and exceed placement goals
• Lead the development and refinement of pitch calendars, press materials, and media lists
• Understanding of GEO/AI integration into PR and its incorporation into strategic efforts
• Partner with Account and Influencer Coordinators to plan and manage influencer collaborations and activations
• Oversee creative campaign execution from ideation through reporting
• Analyze results and make data-informed recommendations to optimize future efforts
• Own 8–10 client accounts, acting as the primary point of contact and strategic lead
• Lead calls and presentations with confidence and clarity
• Proactively anticipate client needs and solve challenges with support from our leadership team
• Approve and deliver reports and campaign updates, always on deadline
• Delegate tasks across Account Coordinators, Influencer Coordinators, and freelance contributors while ensuring clarity, deadlines, and accountability
• Mentor junior team members and provide constructive, empowering feedback
• Support a collaborative, creative, and respectful team culture rooted in results and integrity
Skills
• 6+ years of PR experience, ideally in an agency setting working with lifestyle, parenting, or CPG brands
• A strong track record of securing consistent media and influencer placements
• Confidence in client leadership, strategy development, and high-pressure presentation environments
• Exceptional communication skills—written, verbal, and interpersonal
• A proactive, entrepreneurial mindset with a passion for mentoring and strategic thinking
