About the Role

As a Remote Accommodations Consultant at Lowe's, you will serve as a subject matter expert on accommodation processes, disability laws, and return-to-work programs. You will manage accommodation cases from initial review to implementation, providing consultation and coaching to associates, HR, and leaders. This role requires a strong understanding of federal and state disability accommodation laws, including ADA/ADAA and FMLA, as well as experience working in a multi-state and multi-site organization.

Key Responsibilities


Manage accommodation cases, including initial review of medical information, interactive process, accommodation implementation, and documentation.
Serve as a subject matter expert on Lowe's accommodation processes and disability accommodation laws, advising and influencing HR Business Partners and leaders on legal requirements, options, risks, and outcomes.
Provide consultation and coaching on workplace accommodations to associates, HR, and leaders, ensuring compliance with federal and state laws.
Partner with functional stakeholders on Workday coding, status, and departmental referrals, including leave management as an accommodation.
Engage in the interactive process with leaders and associates returning from leave with workplace accommodations.
Maintain subject-matter expertise by staying up-to-date with changing laws, regulations, and external accommodation environments.
Support associates with questions about leaves and accommodations, providing guidance on navigating the process.
Collaborate with vendors to monitor accommodation requests, interactive process documentation, and communication.
Implement reporting obligations in coordination with the Legal Department.


Essential Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you must possess:


A Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.
At least 4 years of experience managing workplace accommodation cases, providing consultation on disability, accommodation, or leaves, including return-to-work programs.
Subject matter expertise in federal and state disability and accommodation laws, specifically ADA/ADAA and FMLA.
Experience working in a multi-state and multi-site organization.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex topics.
The ability to work effectively at all levels within the organization.


Preferred Qualifications

While not required, the following qualifications will enhance your candidacy:


Experience working in a large-scale, complex, and fast-paced environment.
Knowledge of Workday and other HR systems.
Familiarity with external resources such as DMEC and JAN.


What We Offer

Lowe's provides a competitive salary, with a pay range of $68,400 to $114,000 annually, depending on location and experience.
