Corporate Staff Accountant

The Corporate Staff Accountant will be responsible for the monthly closing processes, preparing journal entries, and ensuring compliance with GAAP while supporting audit processes and process improvements.ResponsibilitiesAssist in the month-end closing process and running of reports for all BMS and G/L systemsPrepare timely, accurate, and compliant balance sheet reconciliations as assignedResearch and analyze data as requestedRun and distribute month end and ad-hoc reportsPrepare and process journal entries in the BMS and G/L systemsProactively pursue resolution on outstanding itemsAssist in providing audit support for both company wide audit and for regulated entitiesParticipation in process improvement and designSkillsRequires at least 1 year of experience in the accounting fieldBachelor's Degree in Accounting/FinanceExcellent written and verbal communication skillsIntermediate Excel skills required (vlookup, pivot tables, basic understanding of formulas, etc.)Strong analytical and problem-solving skillsAbility to work under pressure to achieve deadlinesHigh degree of accuracy with attention to detailSelf-motivated and proactiveDemonstrated ability to take initiative and achieve results in a fast-paced and changing environmentTeam-oriented mindset with ability to collaborate effectivelyMust have some flexibility of work hours and the ability to put in extra hours during peak timesInsurance experience a plus but not necessaryBenefitsHealth/dental/vision/life/disability insuranceFSAHSA401(k) accountsPaid-time-off benefits such as vacation, sick, and personal daysEligible bonuses, equity and commissions for some positionsCompany OverviewHUB International is an insurance brokerage company that offers employee benefits, business, and personal insurance products and services.
