? Responsibilities*
The Registrar Lead at a fast-paced hospital is responsible for overseeing the registration process, ensuring the efficient and accurate collection of patient information at the point of entry. This role involves managing a team of registrars, providing training and support, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring compliance with hospital policies and regulatory standards. The Registrar Lead is instrumental in maintaining a smooth workflow in a high-pressure environment, collaborating with various departments, and addressing patient inquiries with empathy and professionalism. Additionally, the role requires continuous improvement initiatives to enhance patient experience and operational efficiency.
? Courteously and professionally greets patients.
? Obtain accurate demographic insurance information. Correctly code and verify insurance coverage.
? Collect estimated patient responsibility or screen patient for assistance programs. Provide assistance to patients presenting or calling with billing questions.
? Process medical records requests.
? Train new staff.
? Prepare monthly paperwork for scanning.
? Prepare bank deposits.
? Audit patient charts for accuracy.
? Maintain consistent communication within the department.
Dignity Health now offers an Education Benefit program for benefit-eligible employees after 180 days. This program provides debt relief and student loan assistance to help you achieve your goals. Full-time employees can receive up to $18,000 over five years, while part-time employees can receive up to $9,000.
? Qualifications*
Minimum
? High School Diploma/GED or Official Transcripts
? (1) year of recent medical office, hospital registration, or banking experience
? (2) years of Customer Service experience
? American Heart Association-issued BLS card
? Medical terminology, insurance verification, schedule maintenance
? Preferred: *
? Associates Degree
? (1) year of Management, Supervisor, or Lead experience
? Service recovery and Conflict resolution
? Pay Range*
$18.00 - $22.42 /hour
