About the position

Responsibilities
• Collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams of biologists, planners, engineers, and other professionals to assemble regulatory compliant environmental reports and permits.
• Maintaining excellent communication with project teams.

Requirements
• BS or MS in Biology, Ecology, Environmental Science or related scientific discipline or technical field.
• 3+ years in environmental consulting.
• Experience performing desktop surveys to determine potential for presence of sensitive natural resources, including special-status species, and assessing the need for field surveys or permits.
• Experience with fieldwork including but not limited to habitat assessments for special-status species and aquatic resource delineation surveys.
• Familiarity with Federal, State, and local regulations; knowledge of environmental regulatory processes (e.g., National Environmental Policy Act, Clean Water Act Sections 404/401 permitting, Endangered Species Act Section 7 consultation, Energy Facility Siting Council site certification, and/or Oregon Department of State Lands removal-fill permitting).
• Experience preparing technical reports and/or permit application packages.
• Demonstrated success as both a self-starter and team player.
• Ability to travel or be in the field for extended periods and the ability to occasionally work in rough terrain and challenging weather conditions.

Nice-to-haves
• Experience and interest in plant taxonomy and identification.
• Experience in focused wildlife surveys (nesting birds, raptors, small mammals).
• Biology and/or permitting experience in Washington, Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, and/or California.
