Registered Nurse (RN) - Infusion Therapy (Days) Towson
Under general supervision and in consultation with the responsible medical oncologist and/or advanced practitioner, is responsible for coordinating, managing and communicating the plan of treatment to patients and their families. Specifically, the nurse assists in communications with patients, triages patients and patient issues, performs symptom management and teaches patients regarding their disease process and treatment. Candidates may request off the equivalent of 1 week of their contracted hours. For a candidate who is contracted for 36 hours a week; they may request 36 hours off. This can be done in up to a 7-day time block (1 week) or a total of 36 hours if the dates requested off are separate. A candidate contracted for 40 hours/week would be able to request off 40 hours.
Candidates will be considered for orientations scheduled up to 6 weeks out. RN and CNA orientations are held every other week on Tuesday and Wednesday
The 257 licensed bed facility (acute and sub-acute care) is located on a beautiful suburban campus that handles more than 23,000 admissions and over 52,000 emergency room visits annually. Gilchrist provides medical care, counseling and support to patients and their families at every stage of serious illness, even well before hospice is needed. Gilchrist serves more than 7,600 patients each year-in homes, residential care communities and other medical settings, and at our three inpatient hospice centers in Towson, Howard County and Baltimore. In addition, Gilchrist provides grief counseling and other bereavement services to 6,500 families throughout central Maryland.
