Overview: I’m Kork, a Research Coordinator at Boston Children’s Hospital, working with Dr. Sabra Katz-Wise on an exciting new project to support families with transgender (trans) teens. Trans teens have a different gender from their assigned sex at birth, including trans girls, trans boys, nonbinary youth, and gender fluid youth. We are inviting caregivers of trans teens to participate in this project.
Caregivers can represent biological, adoptive, or foster parents; grandparents; or other types of caregivers.
We are offering two ways to participate in this project. Both options offer compensation.
• Option 1:
Take part in a safe and supportive virtual digital storytelling workshop over 7 weeks and tell a story about your life to share with other families with trans teens.
• Option 2:
Take part in a virtual advisory group, which will meet every 3 months to help shape research that supports families with trans teens.
Study Type: Mixed Methods
IRB Approved: Yes
Target Audience: Caregivers of transgender and/or nonbinary youth
Target Sample: 5 caregivers
