About the position

Ring is looking for a Software Quality Assurance Engineer to join a team of hands-on, passionate professionals developing innovative products. The person in this position will be responsible for qualifying products and features developed by cross-functional teams. This includes developing test plans and test cases that map to product requirements, documenting end-user scenarios, detecting and reporting UI, API, and system-wide issues, participating in triaging defects, automating test cases to assist with production release regression testing, and preparing test reports and release readiness reports for components, APIs, and product feature integrations. In this role, you will develop test plans and test cases that provide effective end-to-end coverage based on product requirements and technical implementations. You will prepare and distribute test reports and release readiness reports for stakeholder review. Collaboration is key, as you will work across teams to align on release timelines, test readiness, and define a release test plan to support requirements. You will coordinate with cross-functional sprint teams, automation, and release teams to qualify and prepare to release Ring products and corresponding companion applications, including mobile and web apps. Your day-to-day activities will be dynamic and fast-paced. You will actively contribute to QA support functions, including UI and API automation, triaging issues, troubleshooting, conducting API tracing, and supporting production release testing. You will also groom and maintain the test suite to reduce unnecessary test cases where appropriate, driving efficiencies and best practices. As a leader, you will participate in design discussions, planning, retrospective reviews, and the triage/prioritization of defects, including identifying root causes. You will review metrics related to product quality to assess test effectiveness and identify opportunities to evolve team methodologies and improve product quality.

Responsibilities

• Evolve team methodologies for implementing, testing and deploying solutions

• Review metrics related to product quality to assess test effectiveness and opportunities to evolve team methodologies and mature/improve product quality

• Participate in design discussions, planning, retrospective reviews and triage/prioritization of defects (including identification of root cause)

Requirements
• 4+ years of quality assurance engineering experience
,
• Experience in automation testing
,
• Experience in manual testing
,
• Experience as QA lead on medium to large sized projects

Nice-to-haves
• Experience with at least one automated test framework like Selenium or Appium
,
• Experience in gathering test requirements to create detailed test plans and defining quality metrics to measure product quality
