Psychotherapist Independent Contractor
Job Summary:
This role involves working with diverse populations, including children, families, and individuals facing various challenges. The Psychotherapist will be responsible for conducting assessments, developing treatment plans, and delivering evidence-based interventions to support clients in their mental health journeys.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments and diagnostic evaluations for clients.
• Develop individualized treatment plans based on client needs and therapeutic goals.
• Provide psychotherapy using various modalities, including cognitive behavioral therapy, psychodynamic therapy, and motivational interviewing.
• Facilitate individual and/or couple therapy sessions, ensuring a safe and supportive environment for all participants.
• Implement crisis intervention strategies as needed to support clients in distress.
• Maintain accurate medical documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations and organizational policies.
• Engage in case management activities to ensure continuity of care for clients.
• Participate in clinical research initiatives to enhance therapeutic practices and outcomes.
• Provide education and resources to clients and families regarding mental health issues and coping strategies.
Requirements:
• Master’s degree or higher in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or a related field.
• Active, unrestricted license in Alabama (LPC, LMFT, or LCSW).
• Proficiency in crisis management, behavior management, and patient assessment techniques.
• Familiarity with ICD-10 coding systems for accurate medical documentation.
• Experience with telehealth platforms.
• Knowledge of specific therapeutic approaches such as CBT, DBT, and Trauma-Informed Therapy.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with diverse populations.
• Commitment to ongoing professional development and adherence to ethical standards in clinical practice.
• Up-to-date CAQH profile and Professional Liability Insurance.
• Successful completion of background and reference checks.
• No restrictions to bill insurance payers. Preference to those paneled with major insurance companies.
