Proximity Media (Sinners, In Proximity, Wakanda Forever: the Official Black Panther Podcast, Judas and the Black Messiah, Stephen Curry: Underrated, Creed 3) is a multi-media production company seeking a highly motivated, ambitious intern to support our audio/podcasting department. This hybrid/in-person position is ideal for those interested in becoming podcast producers or executives — you must love podcasts, have strong analytical writing and research skills, and a passion for diverse and inclusive storytelling. Previous internship experience is preferred but not required.
Please note that we accept applicants who are undergraduate juniors, seniors, and graduate students. We are also extending the application to those who have graduated within the last six months. Applicants not fitting the aforementioned requirement will not be considered.
Responsibilities will include research, coverage, production assistance, and some admin support. Interns have the opportunity to workshop an original podcast pitch to present to Proximity executives at the end of the semester. The internship also has an educational component including meeting with industry professionals and learning about the process of podcast development and production.
The position is paid. It begins in August 2025 and runs through early December. An ideal candidate will be available 9am-6pm PT, preferably 3 days per week. Alternatively, one full day 9am-6pm PT + four half days (9am-1pm and/or 2pm-6pm PT) is acceptable. Interns will work up to 24 hours a week. All interns must be available to attend our one-hour all company meetings on Tuesdays at 10am PT. We prefer that all candidates can come into the office on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Los Angeles based candidates are preferred as the position will be hybrid with some in-person opportunities at the Proximity offices in Burbank and other LA production locations.
