Project Manager (Remote in CA) - Commercial Solar

Weβre looking for a Project Manager to lead solar construction projects with precision, professionalism, and purpose- from design through final PTO.
This position allows for remote work within California.
Responsibilities:
β’ Coordinates weekly meetings with teams to communicate the status of projects and 3-week lookaheads.
β’ Leads the full project lifecycle for solar projects, ensuring delivery on time, on budget, and to scope.
β’ Coordinates cross-functional teams- engineering, procurement, and field crews- for efficient project execution.
β’ Serves as the main point of contact for clients, contractors, utility partners, and public agencies.
β’ Builds and maintains detailed project schedules and budgets using tools like Smart sheets, Microsoft, and Procore.
β’ Conducts weekly site visits to monitor construction progress, perform safety inspections, and milestone verification.
β’ Pre-qualify subcontractors for inclusion on bid list.
β’ Manages accuracy of accounts payable and receivable invoices as it relates to projects assigned.
β’ Oversees project documentation, permitting, and reporting for project compliance.
β’ Supports estimating teams in the preconstruction and bidding phases.
β’ Facilitates project commissioning, closeout, and client handoff.
Experience:
β’ 3β5 years of experience managing solar or renewable energy projects required
β’ Required: Prior experience managing Public Works projects, including compliance with public agency requirements, reporting, and procurement standards.
β’ Required: Demonstrated experience working with DSA (Division of the State Architect) projects, including plan review, inspections, closeout documentation, and certification processes.
β’ Experience managing government-funded projects is a major plus.
β’ Experience managing multiple concurrent projects (at differing stages of completion) and field teams simultaneously.
Skills, Knowledge & Abilities:
β’ Excellent communication and leadership skills.
β’ Strong working knowledge of construction sequencing, budgeting, and permitting.
β’ Familiarity with solar PV systems, renewable energy lifecycles, and utility interconnections.
β’ Proficiency in project management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
β’ Organized, solution-oriented, and able to manage deadlines independently.
β’ Demonstrated ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and field teams.
β’ Ability to pass criminal and MVR check.
Physical Demands:
β’ Must be able to walk job sites, climb ladders/stairs, and lift up to 50 lbs.
β’ Frequent travel to project sites
β’ Comfortable working outdoors in varied weather conditions.
