DC SCORES seeks a relentless, highly effective communicator who excels at building relationships and managing projects to ensure our poet-athletes have the best experience possible in our programs.
The ideal candidate will be passionate about positive youth development, especially through sport, creative writing, and the arts. They will be clear, precise, and compassionate in all forms of communication with all stakeholders. They prioritize building relationships and know that relationships are built through trustworthiness and authentic engagement. They will stay on top of multiple projects, plan backwards, overcome obstacles that arise, identify and involve stakeholders appropriately, and use resources wisely. They will commit to social justice and racial equity through proactive learning on race, equity, identity, self-awareness, and emotional intelligence.
The Program Coordinator, Site Management will report to and work closely with the Manager, Programs and have a close working relationship with the rest of the Programs team.
Key Responsibilities
? Supporting our coaches through continuous and ongoing quality support (communication, site visits, equipment delivery, etc.) to ensure that our programs have everything they need to provide our poet-athletes with the best experience possible
? Leading and helping plan several program events including game days, poetry slams, championships, family festivals, service days, professional soccer matches, workshops, etc.
? In the off-seasons of winter and summer, providing front-line coaching (writing and/or soccer) and leading programs

You are able to juggle competing demands and prioritize without sacrificing quality. You have extreme attention to detail where you notice and fix errors. This doesn't mean you can't make mistakes, this means that you acknowledge mistakes and turn them into learning opportunities. Lastly, you have a strong sense of ownership and resilience. You plan ahead and find alternative paths, when needed, to get to the finish line. You are not defeated by setbacks and rejections. You maintain a high bar even when things are hectic.

While not required, we would be excited to see that you have knowledge/familiarity with: afterschool or school-based programs, public school systems in DC, positive youth development framework, soccer (playing and/or coaching), and/or creative writing (teaching, participating, and/or performing). Also, let us know if you are conversational in Spanish and/or Amharic!
Travel/Availability
? In addition to the areas above, you must also be able to travel to all parts of the city, every day. While a vehicle is encouraged, it is not a requirement if you are confident in your ability to travel to all parts of the city via other methods.
? The position is full-time and will be required to work in our headquarters office in DC at least 4 days per week. In order to work with our programs during afterschool hours, candidates must be available to work until 6pm each day.
? This position requires a few planned late weeknight and weekend commitments. All members of the DC SCORES staff, all the way up to the Executive Director, attend major program events (~6/year, typically on evenings or Saturdays) and staff Thursday afternoon game days (3:30-6 pm) during our fall and spring seasons.
? The salary range for this position is $41,000-46,000
