Professional Liability Claims Specialist
Description:
Process assigned primary and excess Professional Liability, Directors & Officers and Employment Practices Liability claims in accordance with established procedures.
Conduct and/or coordinate investigations and maintain diary of upcoming actions/events.
Act as primary liaison to the insured and establish timely and accurate reserves.
Audit, revise and pay bills related to defense of claims and settle claims as appropriate.
Attend important trials, arbitrations and mediations as appropriate.
Assist in all internal and external audits and notify the Underwriting Department of questionable risks.
Requirements:
Four-year college degree.
Must have an adjuster's license and prior general liability experience
Experience handling primary and excess Professional Liability, Directors & Officers and Employment Practices Liability claims.
Working knowledge of insurance claim handling processes and procedures.
Working knowledge of legal principles of liability and damages, as well as legal procedures and the workings of legal institutions.
