The NYS Office of General Services is seeking aProfessional Engineer 1 (Electrical) to perform electrical engineering duties including design and management of rehabilitation of electrical equipment. The role involves preparing electrical drawings, coordinating with technical disciplines, managing project schedules, and overseeing consultant design work. Responsibilities Perform electrical engineering duties including electrical systems design or management of ongoing rehabilitation of existing electrical equipment Prepare electrical drawings and details, specifications, estimates, and/or studies for design projects Coordinate design drawings and related specifications, construction costs estimates, etc., with the other technical disciplines Actively manage the schedule of assigned projects according to workload, priorities, and design schedules Review reports, drawings, specifications, and bolthires estimates prepared by design consultants Actively oversee consultant design work for assigned projects Develop and maintain project documentation, including records of meetings, correspondence, and progress Review shop drawings, respond to contractor Requests for Information, create and/or review Information Bulletins, and provide similar construction administration and observation during the project’s construction Perform a full range of supervisory duties, including reviewing the work of subordinate staff Skills A New York StateProfessional Engineer's license and current registration AND a qualifying bachelor's degree or higher as listed below; OR a New York StateProfessional Engineer's license and current registration AND one year of full-time qualifying engineering experience as listed below Qualifying degrees: Computer Engineering, Computer Engineering Technology, Electrical and Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Electrical Power Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Electronics Engineering Technology, or Engineering Science with a recognized concentration in any of the above listed engineering degrees Qualifying experience: One year of full-time engineering experience in electrical systems Possession and maintenance of a valid Driver's License issued by the NYS Department of Motor Vehicle is required Company Overview OGS manages and leases real property, designs and builds facilities, contracts for goods, services, and technology, and delivers a wide array of support services.It was founded in 1960, and is headquartered in Albany, New York, US, with a workforce of 1001-5000 employees.
