This role is pivotal in bridging the gap between our product and operations, ensuring our payroll platform remains competitive, efficient, and aligned with the needs of local users. You will work closely with cross-functional operational teams—such as payroll operations, customer support, sales, and account management—to uncover system pain points, identify enhancement opportunities, and support the successful delivery of product updates that resonate with the UK market.Unlike a traditional Product Manager, this role does not interface directly with engineering. Instead, you will act as the operational lens into product development—surfacing requirements, designing and improving workflows, and ensuring seamless product-to-process alignment. While knowledge of UK payroll legislation is important, this is not a compliance role—you will not be responsible for interpreting or implementing legislative changes. Your focus is on functionality, usability, and process scalability.ResponsibilitiesOperational Product LeadershipAct as the operational owner of the UK payroll product experience.Serve as the main conduit between user-facing operational teams and product management, translating business needs into clear system requirements.Design, document, and streamline end-to-end processes to support scalability and efficiency across payroll operations in UK.Product Feedback & Feature EnhancementBuild and maintain a continuous feedback loop with internal teams (e.g., support, sales, customer success) to identify pain points, and feature requests.Aggregate, analyze, and prioritize enhancement needs based on user impact, business value, and feasibility.Collaborate with Product Managers to pass on well-structured product requirements and enhancement proposals.User Engagement & InsightsEngage directly with top-tier clients or complex user scenarios to better understand use cases, uncover unmet needs, and validate solutions.Champion the voice of the customer in product discussions and process decisions.Project Management & Product RolloutsLead cross-functional initiatives such as new product rollouts, feature launches, and internal process changes specific to UK payroll.Coordinate communication and training for internal stakeholders to ensure successful adoption and usage.Issue Resolution & Root Cause AnalysisPerform root cause analysis on recurring operational issues and identify systemic improvements to reduce friction and improve user satisfaction.Define and implement process changes that proactively eliminate known issues.Experience5+ years in product operations, product management, or related roles.5+ years in payroll operations or equivalent payroll roles.Strong knowledge of UK payroll legislation and practices.Prior experience working with or managing payroll software platformsProficiency in data analysis, BI tools (SQL, Looker, Snowflake, Datadog, Excel/Sheets) and superior presentation skills to effectively communicate insights and recommendations.Skills & CompetenciesStrong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to investigate complex issues and propose scalable solutions.Excellent stakeholder management and cross-functional communication.Comfortable working in a high-growth, fast-paced environment.Basic technical knowledge of software developmentStrong SQL and presentation skills.Operationally minded with a product-oriented perspective.User-obsessed and process-driven.Proactive, curious, and continuously looking for ways to improve systems.Strong passion for user experience and the ability to deeply understand complex products and use cases.Total RewardsOur workforce deserves fair and competitive pay that meets them where they are.
