Probate Lawyer Responsibilities & Duties
• Handle probate administration, including preparing and filing estate documents, managing assets and liabilities, and distributing estate assets to beneficiaries
• Provide legal counsel and guidance to clients on probate and estate planning matters
• Prepare and negotiate estate-related contracts, such as wills, trusts, and powers of attorney
• Appear in court to represent clients in probate and estate-related matters
• Maintain accurate records and file documents in a timely manner
• Communicate effectively with clients, court officials, and other professionals in the legal field
• Stay up-to-date with changes in probate law and best practices in estate planning
• Contribute to the growth and success of the firm through business development and networking opportunities
Probate Lawyer Qualifications & Skills
• Experience in probate, estate law and trust administration
• Strong negotiation and mediation skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
• Familiarity with local and state probate and trust administration laws
• Detail-oriented and highly organized
• Experience with estate tax returns
• Ability to handle sensitive and emotional situations
• Proven track record of successful estate settlements
• Proficiency in legal research tools and software
• Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school
• Active license to practice law in the state where the position is located
• 5+ years of experience practicing probate law
• Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to handle a high volume of cases while maintaining attention to detail
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
• Commitment to providing exceptional client service and building long-term relationships
Job Type: Contract
Pay: $30.84 - $37.17 per hour
