Position Overview
Are you ready to take your DevOps career to the next level? arenaflex is currently seeking an experienced Principal DevOps Engineer to lead our organizational transformation in DevOps tooling, practices, and culture. This is a senior-level individual contributor role that offers the opportunity to shape the future of our engineering infrastructure while working alongside some of the brightest minds in the industry.

As the Principal DevOps Engineer at arenaflex, you will be responsible for driving enterprise-wide DevOps strategy, designing and implementing scalable infrastructure solutions, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement. You will work closely with cross-functional teams including software developers, security professionals, and operations staff to ensure the delivery of high-quality, secure, and reliable applications.

Key Responsibilities

Lead DevOps Strategy Development: Design and implement comprehensive DevOps strategies covering tooling, practices, and cultural transformation across the organization. Define roadmap and ensure alignment with business objectives and technical goals.
Establish Best Practices: Create and enforce DevOps best practices including version control standards, code review processes, automated testing frameworks, and deployment strategies. Ensure consistent adoption across all development teams.
Infrastructure as Code: Design and manage infrastructure as code using tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or similar platforms. Provision and manage resources across multi-cloud environments with emphasis on scalability, security, and cost efficiency.
CI/CD Pipeline Management: Implement and manage continuous integration and continuous deployment pipelines using tools like Jenkins, CircleCI, or equivalent solutions. Ensure rapid and reliable application deployment while maintaining quality standards.
Security Collaboration: Work closely with security and compliance teams to ensure all teams adhere to industry best practices and regulatory requirements. Integrate security scanning and compliance checks into DevOps workflows.
Performance Monitoring: Monitor and analyze DevOps pipelines and processes, identifying areas for improvement, optimization, and automation. Enhance release/failback consistency and accuracy through data-driven insights.
Technology Innovation: Stay current with emerging information technologies, trends, and best practices. Evaluate and recommend adoption of new tools and methodologies within the organization's DevOps ecosystem.
Team Leadership: Coach and provide technical guidance to junior team members, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing and continuous learning. Mentor less experienced engineers on best practices and emerging technologies.


Required Qualifications
Education and Experience

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or related field required
Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering, or related technical roles
Proven experience leading DevOps transformations in enterprise environments


Technical Skills

Cloud Platforms: Extensive experience working with public cloud environments, with preference for Google Cloud Platform (GCP). Additional experience with Microsoft Azure or Amazon Web Services (AWS) is highly desirable.
Containerization: Strong expertise in containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes for application packaging and orchestration.
Infrastructure as Code: Proficiency in infrastructure as code concepts and tools including Terraform and Ansible for automating resource provisioning and deployment.
CI/CD Tools: Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipeline tools such as Jenkins, CircleCI, or similar platforms, along with version control systems like Git.
Scripting: Strong scripting skills in languages such as Python, Bash, or comparable programming languages for automation and tooling development.
Monitoring and Logging: Knowledge of monitoring and logging tools including Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk, or Cloud Logging Solutions to ensure application performance and system health.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with security best practices in DevOps, including vulnerability scanning, compliance frameworks, and secure deployment practices
Previous leadership experience including mentoring and coaching junior engineers
Experience with healthcare technology or regulated industries
Knowledge of HIPAA compliance requirements
Certifications in cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) or DevOps tools
Experience with GitOps methodologies
Knowledge of service mesh technologies (Istio, Linkerd)
