About the Role: Principal DevOps Engineer We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Principal DevOps Engineer to lead our DevOps strategy, covering design, development of tools, practices, and culture. As a Technical Senior IC, you will be responsible for driving organizational change, contributing to enterprise-wide requirements, and ensuring the adoption of best practices, including discernibility, adaptability, availability, security, and cost execution. Key Responsibilities: Lead DevOps strategy, covering design, development of tools, practices, and culture. Establish and maintain DevOps best practices, including version control, code review, automated testing, and deployment techniques. Design and manage infrastructure as code, using tools like Terraform, Ansible, or comparable, to provision and manage resources across cloud environments. Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins, CircleCI, or similar, ensuring fast and reliable application deployment. Collaborate with security and compliance teams to ensure teams are adhering to industry best practices and regulatory requirements. Monitor and analyze DevOps pipelines and practices, identifying areas for improvement, optimization, and automation to enhance launch/rollback consistency and accuracy. Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies, trends, and best practices, and make recommendations for their adoption within the organization's DevOps environment. Coach and provide technical guidance to junior colleagues, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing and continuous learning. Required Qualifications: To be successful in this role, you will need: A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field. Experience working in open cloud environments, GCP (preferred)/Azure/AWS, and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes). Proficiency in infrastructure as code concepts and tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible) for automating resource provisioning and configuration. Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipeline tools (e.g., Jenkins, CircleCI) and version control systems (e.g., Git). Strong scripting skills in languages like Python, Bash, or comparable. Solid problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex DevOps platform issues and provide effective solutions. Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders. Preferred Qualifications: To take your application to the next level, you will need: Experience with monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk, Cloud Logging Solutions) to ensure application performance and system health. Knowledge of security best practices in DevOps, including experience with vulnerability scanning, compliance frameworks, and secure deployment practices. Leadership experience, including mentoring and guiding junior engineers, is a plus.
