Physician (Part-time, Remote)
Medcor is seeking a Part-time Physician to provide hands-on Urgent Care and Occupational Medicine to employees at our onsite clinic in Dubuque, IA. The hours for this role are Tuesday's 8:00 AM - 12:00 PM. This position has the flexibility to be a virtual/remote role as well.Scope of ServicesThe scope of services provided in this clinic includes episodic and urgent care, limited primary care, diagnosis and treatment of workers’ compensation injuries and illness, regulatory exams and preventive services. Basic point-of-care lab work and limited prescription dispensing is available on-site.Duties and Responsibilities:Direction of the medical practice of the PA/NPConsultation as needed with the clinic’s PA or NPRecognition of the PA/NP’s education needs and help in meeting those needsProvide occupational medicine services at a level of an outpatient clinicMedical surveillanceProvide assessment and treatment of work-related illnesses and injuriesProvide urgent care of non-work-related injuries and illnesses as best supports site activitiesFit for duty evaluationsProvide initial evaluation and stabilization of patients who present with illnesses or injuries that require a higher level of care or EMS transportProvide pre-placement evaluationsDOT evaluationsSuccessful use of MD GuidelinesPractice Plan:If the provider is a PA, the physician and PA will execute and file a practice plan acceptable to the state Board of Medicine or Board of Physician Assistant practiceIf the provider is an NP, the physician and NP will execute a collaboration agreementThe Medcor practice plan agreement is used if there is no state-specified practice plan templateYou Must HaveA valid and unrestricted medical license in Illinois and Iowa.One of the following educational and experiential backgrounds:Double Board Certified in occupational Medicine AND a Primary Care Field (e.g. Internal Medicine, Family Practice, Emergency Medicine)Board certification in Occupational Medicine AND have extensive experience in orthopedic injuries and urgent care/primary care experience.Board certification in Internal Medicine, or Family Practice with fellowship training in Sports Medicine.Board certification in Emergency Medicine, with strong orthopedic skills and experience in Occupational Medicine and Primary Care.A current and unrestricted DEA registration and, as applicable, state-controlled substances registrationA current BLS certificationDOT certificationA positive outlook and be a collaborative team playerA commitment to go above and beyond for excellent customer serviceOccupational health and Workers’ Compensation experienceBe able to lift 30lb jump bag/backpackYou ShouldBe comfortable and productive working with computers and EMR software.Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills – with patients, clients and colleagues.Have Clinical leadership experienceHave managed care experienceMedcor PhilosophyAt Medcor, we follow the Quadruple Aim: improving the patient experience, improving population health, reducing healthcare costs, and enhancing the well-being of healthcare providers (including their work-life satisfaction).Medcor is a tobacco free and smoke free workplace!EOE/M/F/Vet/DisabilityWe are an equal opportunity employer and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, pregnancy, age, national origin, disability status, genetic information, protected veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law.Originally posted on Himalayas
